Izack Tago's shift back to the back-row may become a permanent strategy for the Panthers, according to coach Ivan Cleary.
The 24-year-old recently made his first NRL start on the edge in Round 11, after coming off the bench three times this season, where he recorded 33 tackles in just 50 minutes.
Though he was initially frustrated missing out on a starting spot, Tago expressed his commitment to improving his skills to benefit the team.
After the Panthers' victory against the Dragons, Cleary revealed he had considered managing injuries in the outside backs as a means to allow Tago more game time.
When those opportunities didn't arise, he sought alternative ways to ensure the three-time premiership winner could contribute on the field.
