The Sydney Roosters are preparing to bring Dietrich Roache into their fold, with a commitment that extends until the conclusion of 2027.
A two-time Olympian, Roache showcased his skills at both the Paris and Tokyo Olympic Games with the Australian Sevens team, providing an additional attacking dimension for the Roosters.
The 24-year-old athlete shared the field with Mark Nawaqanitawase during the Paris Games, and, as reported by Code Sports, he will reunite with him at the tri-colours two years post their Olympic experience.
With over 70 tries to his name in the World Sevens Series, Roache is set to embrace the challenges of the 13-man game.
Roache isn't a stranger to rugby league; he grew up playing it and attended the notable Patrician Brothers school in Sydney.
He transitioned to union at 18 and is now poised to return to his league origins for a fresh challenge.
Roache's move highlights a trend of union players venturing into league, as the Sharks set their sights on upcoming Waratahs talent Leo Jacques, while former Sevens colleague Nathan Lawson continues with the Dragons.
Meanwhile, Nawaqanitawase plans to depart league for Japanese Rugby at the season's end, and one of Roache's teammates has also accepted a multi-year contract with Rugby Australia.
