The NRL has announced a unique initiative in celebration of Jai Arrow's birthday, titled the "World's Biggest Birthday Party."
This event aims to generate funds for Arrow's battle against motor neuron disease, taking place throughout July as part of the "Stand with Jai" campaign.
The highlight of the initiative will be the match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Newcastle Knights on July 12, which coincides with Arrow's birthday.
This date is particularly significant, as Arrow revealed his retirement in May after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease at just 30 years old.
"This will be a case of the game uniting behind the own," stated Australian Rugby League Commission Chairman Peter V'landys.
"We are a family."
"Jai and his family need the help and they will get it. One of the best things about Rugby League is its ability to unite for an important cause and they do not get more important than this."
"On July 12, we will throw the biggest birthday party in the world for Jai. It will be a huge occasion with the whole game involved. This is not just for Rabbitohs and Knights fans - it's for everyone in the game to get behind. Don't bring presents. Bring a donation. And help Jai get through this with everyone in the Rugby League community behind him."
The July 12 event will feature a variety of activities, prizes, and fundraising opportunities.
But that's just the beginning.
