Magic Round Secured in Brisbane Until 2032

The ARL and the Queensland Government have officially struck a long-term agreement to host Magic Round in Brisbane through to 2032.

This six-year extension ensures that the festivities will continue at Suncorp Stadium, with the announcement made just ahead of the seventh edition of the event.

According to the Courier Mail, the extension was secured by overcoming competing offers from other locations.

Brisbane previously held the hosting rights until 2027, and this extension promises significant benefits, aligning with the city's preparations for the 2032 Olympic Games.

The Magic Round has proven to be a financial boon for Queensland, generating an impressive $41 million for the economy last year.

ARL Chairman Peter V'landys and Queensland Premier David Crisafulli are eager to leverage the potential growth of expansion teams in the NRL for the future.

Reports indicate attempts from South Australia, New Zealand, Western Australia, and New South Wales to claim hosting rights, which prompted intense negotiations.

"Lock it in to 2032. Magic Round is staying in Queensland - exactly where it belongs," Crisafulli stated in the Courier Mail.

"I told Queenslanders we would stare down those other states and get this deal done, and now Magic Round is secured for Queensland for the next six years."

"It's a really big deal."

"When Queenslanders and footy come together, magic happens, and that's exactly what a six-year deal represents for the state."
