In a dominant display, the Jersey Flegg Sharks secured a resounding 34-16 victory over the Canberra Raiders in their round 24 clash at PointsBet Stadium.
The game got off to a blistering start, with the Sharks scoring three tries in the opening period, all of which were finished off by winger Kristian Dixon.
This early onslaught saw the home team establish a commanding 18-point lead within the first 15 minutes.
Despite the Raiders' attempts to stage a comeback, the Sharks proved to be too strong and secured their place in the top four of the under-21's ladder.
The first try came from a line break by Toby Boothroyd, who found Tully Wilton in support with a well-timed inside pass.
The second try came courtesy of centre Ben Lavender, who slid over in the north-western corner of PointsBet Stadium after an impressive passing exchange.
Siteni Taukomo then made a long run down the western touchline, resulting in a try by Manaia Waitere next to the posts.
With three successful conversions by Dixon, the home side led 18-0.
The Raiders managed to bridge the gap with a try of their own in the 22nd minute.
However, Taukomo crossed the try line again before halftime, sending the teams into the break with the Sharks leading 22-6.
The Raiders fought back early in the second half with a try in the first five minutes.
Nevertheless, Dixon sealed the victory for the Sharks by scoring three more tries in the 45th, 58th, and 68th minutes.
With only two games remaining in the regular season, this win was crucial for the Sharks.
