Hull FC Appoints Steve McNamara as Head Coach for 2027 Season
John Cartwright has vacated his position as head coach of Hull FC with immediate effect, paving the way for Steve McNamara, who will take charge starting in 2027.
Hull FC and Warrington Wolves have announced that they have come to an agreement for McNamara's appointment as head coach for the 2027 Betfred Super League season.
While Cartwright remains with Hull FC, he has officially stepped down from his coaching duties.
Andy Last, the assistant coach, will act as the interim head coach for the remainder of the current season.
Meanwhile, McNamara will serve as Warrington Wolves' assistant coach through the end of the 2026 season.
Returning to his roots, McNamara began as a junior at Hull FC, ultimately making over 160 senior appearances from 1989 to 1996 and representing England and Great Britain internationally.
