Broncos Stars Visit PNG, Meet Prime Minister

Following the Brisbane Broncos' grand final victory, three key players embarked on a trophy tour in Papua New Guinea.

Adam Reynolds, Ezra Mam, and Ben Hunt made their way to Port Moresby, where they had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister James Marape.

According to Hunt, Marape attempted to entice them with the prospect of joining the PNG Chiefs.

"We met the prime minister, and he was trying to sweet-talk us all," Hunt revealed during a media briefing.

"He was saying to come over for the tax-free cash and whatnot, he was offering 'Reyno' a job to come over as coach and everything.

"He was really wheeling and dealing."

At that moment, Reynolds had not yet made a formal announcement regarding his retirement from rugby league, allowing for future discussions about his career.

Hunt, on the other hand, remains without a contract and is open to talks with other teams, though it's unlikely he would make such a move at this stage in his career, while Mam is tied to the Broncos until the end of the 2029 season.

Nevertheless, Hunt acknowledged that the commitment of high-profile athletes like Jarome Luai had generated some buzz within the players' ranks.

"There's always a little bit of talk around the club about different things when, especially when you see players sign like that," he added.
