Will Burgess' Souths exit fast-track Warrington coaching role?

Sam Burgess: Warrington not expecting early arrival for 2024 head coach after Souths exit

Warrington Wolves interim head coach, Gary Chambers, has stated that the recent departure of Sam Burgess from South Sydney Rabbitohs is unlikely to result in an early arrival for his role as Warrington head coach in 2024.

Despite the agreement already in place between Burgess and the Wire, allowing him to complete the current season under Jason Demetriou at Souths, the Australian club has now released Burgess to focus on his future move.

Chambers expressed his desire to see Burgess join the team sooner, stating, "Would I like to see him over? Yeah, I would," but he does not believe it will happen.

Burgess, a former England international and highly regarded player, had agreed to take charge of Warrington in 2024, but it seems that his arrival may not be expedited due to his early exit from Souths.
