The NRL Judiciary has issued its ruling regarding Toafofoa Sipley of the Manly Sea Eagles following his hearing on Tuesday evening.
Sipley, facing a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact charge for a cannonball tackle on David Klemmer, encountered this as his third offence, putting him at risk of a three to four-match suspension. He opted to contest the charge, but his efforts were unsuccessful. Consequently, he will miss this week's game against the New Zealand Warriors and remains stuck on 99 NRL matches.
Despite receiving a four-match suspension, the 30-year-old will not serve it, as he is set to leave the Sea Eagles at the end of the season to join the Warrington Wolves under a two-year contract in the Super League.
Additionally, the NRL Judiciary confirmed the outcome for Jacob Preston after the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs forward faced the panel on the same evening.
Preston, who had previously received a four-week suspension for a crusher tackle in May, was charged again for a tripping offence involving Mavrik Geyer of the Panthers. He also chose to contest this charge and has now been found guilty.
