The Canberra Raiders have confirmed that winger Savelio Tamale is expected to be sidelined for up to three months following a knee injury sustained during their match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Tamale's injury occurred in the 15th minute when his leg was bent awkwardly in a tackle, forcing him to leave the game.
Initially, a hands-on examination ruled out an ACL injury; however, there were concerns regarding a serious ankle, leg, or knee injury due to the significant pain Tamale experienced and the nature of the tackle.
The club has now disclosed that Tamale has suffered a dislocated kneecap, with an anticipated recovery period of 10 to 12 weeks.
Further clarity on Tamale's return timeline is expected after he consults with a specialist this week.
His absence will be a blow for the Raiders, as he has emerged as a breakout player this season.
