Raiders lock in rising star's bright future

The Canberra Raiders have made a bold play in securing the future of promising utility player Kaeo Weekes.

Originally joining the Raiders from the Manly Sea Eagles in 2024, Weekes has now extended his contract for an additional two years, keeping him in the green machine until at least 2027.

This strategic move by the Raiders is a clear signal of their commitment to building a strong and versatile spine for the long term.

Weekes, who sought out greener pastures in Canberra after being overshadowed by stars like Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans at the Sea Eagles, has finally found his place in Ricky Stuart's squad.

After biding his time and proving his worth in reserve grade, Weekes made his mark in Round 8 when he stepped into the halfback role.

He showcased his skills not only in that position but also at fullback and five-eighth throughout the season, proving himself to be a valuable asset to the team.

This decision to re-sign Weekes is a testament to the Raiders' faith in his potential and their belief in his ability to contribute to their future successes on the field.

With Weekes locked in for the foreseeable future, the Raiders can look ahead with confidence and optimism as they continue to strive for greatness in the NRL.
