McLean Out for Origin Game Two

NSW Blues Make Decision on Casey McLean

Casey McLean has been sidelined for State of Origin Game Two following his withdrawal from New South Wales training on Saturday morning.

Nine's Danny Weidler, the first to report this update, shared that McLean was distanced from the team during warm-ups, receiving attention from physiotherapists. A hamstring compression bandage was applied to his leg during the session.

Unfortunately, McLean did not return to practice with his teammates.

It has since been confirmed that he is dealing with a strained quad injury.

Initially, prior to the Game Two camp, McLean had been cleared of any serious structural damage to his ankle, following a challenging landing in Round 14 against the Wests Tigers.

This new injury is unrelated, and it comes at a particularly inconvenient time for the Blues.

To fill McLean's position, Ethan Strange might step in as centre for Game Two.

The Raiders' five-eighth previously showcased his skills in the Under-19s State of Origin for the Blues in 2022, delivering an outstanding performance.

Earlier in the week, Laurie Daley remarked that he possesses a strategy for Strange, who was one of the standout performers in Game One.
