Maroons prop Josh Kerr has received a breach notice from the NRL following his controversial comments about the officiating during the State of Origin decider.

Reports from zerotackle.com indicate that Kerr, who served as the 20th man for the Maroons, voiced his frustrations in a media session on Thursday.

He described referee Ashley Klein as a "double agent," implying that Klein was favoring certain outcomes in the match.

Kerr stated, "I thought Ash Klein did a bit to try and, you know, even it up or make it a bit closer," and added, "We were sitting there going, 'it's rorted, the game's rorted'." He also expressed his concerns about the quality of refereeing, saying, "I haven't got the best eyesight at times, but I'm watching four passes and s---."

The NRL's action underscores the league's commitment to maintaining standards of conduct and communication among players, especially in high-stakes situations like the State of Origin series.

Kerr's remarks have sparked discussions around referee accountability and the implications of such comments on the game's integrity.
