The Newtown Jets celebrated a convincing 25-10 win against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs during the Anzac Round at Henson Park.
This match marked a significant occasion as it was the Jets' first home game under lights since 2016.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the 11th minute when captain Logan Spinx made a close-range try, following a break from Alex Conti.
Although Conti's conversion was unsuccessful, the Bulldogs took an early 4-0 lead, with Spinx impressively scoring his 17th try in just 24 NSW Cup appearances.
However, the Jets quickly steadied themselves and began to assert their dominance.
Liam Ison, returning from an ACL injury, sparked the team with a powerful 30-metre run, eventually leading to a try from Riley Jones.
Another try soon followed from prop Tuku Hau Tapuha, who crossed the line after receiving a quick ball from Jayden Barrel.
With Niwhai Puru converting both tries, the Jets entered halftime with an 18-4 lead.
The second half saw more Jets' brilliance, as Blake Hosking scored in the 71st minute after a powerful run.
With a conversion by Riley Pollard, the Jets advanced to 24-10, solidifying their lead.
Puru later sealed the victory with a field goal in the 79th minute, finishing the game at 25-10.
This win showcased the Jets' outstanding second-half performance and effective teamwork.
