'Tough Day': Robbo's Heartfelt Message for the Struggling Dragons
The Sydney Roosters delivered a points onslaught against the beleaguered St. George Illawarra Dragons, prompting Trent Robinson to express his empathy for Dean Young.
In Young's debut match as interim coach, the Dragons faced a harsh defeat, succumbing to a 62-16 loss on ANZAC Day, with the Roosters scoring an impressive 11 tries at Allianz Stadium.
While his team was relentless during the match, off the field, Robinson was questioned about his feelings toward the Dragons, who encountered a challenging week following Shane Flanagan's dismissal.
"Yeah, yeah you do. It's a hard game the NRL, and so it should be," Robinson remarked, acknowledging the difficulties faced by the opposition.
He added, "This competition is difficult and they are going through a difficult time, I think Dean has had a tough day today."
Despite the setback, Robinson highlighted Young's efforts in setting a positive direction for the team. "But I think he had a good week in setting the tone for how he wanted the club to go forward, and for them I hope that today doesn't change that," he stated.
This emotional response from Robinson reflects the camaraderie and respect that exists among coaches, regardless of the fierce competition on the field.
