Jarome Luai's daily diary: How a simple journal has kept the Penrith Panthers five-eighth grounded before the biggest move of his career.

As the weight of his upcoming transition to the Wests Tigers starts to hit home, Jarome Luai has opened up about the secret weapon that has kept him level-headed.

Known for his social media prowess and his visibly emotional play on the field, Luai credits a humble brown journal at home for helping him navigate his emotions as he gears up for his final games with Penrith.

A vital part of the Penrith machinery aiming for a historic fourth consecutive title, Luai finds himself gearing up for a move to the Wests Tigers in 2025, a team with a less stellar recent history compared to the Panthers.

"The transition has definitely been a challenge, especially after Origin, but being able to express my feelings and discuss them has really helped me focus on the task at hand," Luai remarked.

"I've been hitting the journal a bit harder this year, reflecting on my journey with the boys over the years.

It'll be a neat keepsake to look back on down the track."

Engaging in heartfelt conversations with departing teammates and his partner, Luai emphasizes the importance of staying present in the moment as he prepares for the next chapter in his rugby league journey.
