Blaize Talagi made a strong return at centre against the Roosters, rushing up on Hugo Savala and forcing the pass that Brian To'o turned into the decisive try.
His position remains uncertain, however, with Paul Alamoti and Izack Tago possible inclusions if fit for Penrith's NRL preliminary final.
Ivan Cleary is also expected to restore Jack Cogger after his three-game suspension, potentially replacing Jack Cole or reserve hooker Freddy Lussick.
Cogger won the five-eighth position in Round 22 before his Round 25 ban, while Cleary selected Cole as his replacement.
Cole has been solid for a month, including the qualifying-final victory, but Cogger offers greater big-game experience.
He helped Penrith win the 2023 grand final after replacing the injured Jarome Luai.
Cleary told SEN radio, "I think I have (decided who play five-eighth in the prelim), but I won't be saying."
He added that Cogger's possible roles include five-eighth or the interchange after an interrupted season covering halfback, No.6 and No.14.
The Western Weekender's Peter Lang predicted Cogger would start at five-eighth, while Michael Carayannis said Talagi "may not play again for them potentially" on NRL 360.
Carayannis cited Jett Cleary's arrival in 2027 and said rival clubs could pursue Talagi, who is off-contract at the end of next year.
