The ongoing speculation regarding Israel Folau's return to the NRL continues to intensify, as his elder brother discloses that interest extends beyond the Wests Tigers.

A significant report emerged on Tuesday, indicating that the 37-year-old player is considering a comeback and has been in discussions with the Wests Tigers regarding a potential train and trial arrangement.

2GB Radio reported that Folau might finalize a deal with the club before the June 30 deadline this year.

However, further reports on Tuesday afternoon suggested that the Wests Tigers were not keen on securing his services.

David Folau, Israel's brother, has now clarified that discussions are ongoing with "four or five clubs" beyond just the Tigers.

"Israel has a management team and they have received interest from four or five clubs and they have been great to deal with," David stated in an interview with Wide World of Sports.

"It's just a question of sorting out a few details and hopefully a deal can be done."

Despite their public reluctance, the Tigers are still considered frontrunners in this scenario, while the identity of the other interested clubs remains unclear.

Clubs such as the St George Illawarra Dragons, Canterbury Bulldogs, and possibly even Folau's former team, the Brisbane Broncos, may be among those considering an approach.

Despite limited salary cap flexibility, Folau could be a cost-effective option due to his age.
