Injury Concerns Mount for Broncos' Star

Payne Haas is set to undergo scans following a knee injury that interrupted Brisbane's narrow 21-20 victory over the Wests Tigers.

Midway through the first half at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, Haas left the field limping, potentially adding to the Broncos' growing injury woes that also involve Reece Walsh, Ben Hunt, and Jesse Arthars, who exited with a calf problem after the break.

The absence of Haas for an extended period would be a significant blow for the reigning champions, now standing at 4-3 after Saturday night's match, in which halfback Adam Reynolds guided them to success.

Haas's condition will undoubtedly worry NSW coach Laurie Daley, especially with just over six weeks remaining until the State of Origin series begins.

If Daley is on the lookout for a reliable alternative, Tigers prop Terrell May certainly impressed, achieving 188 meters and five tackle breaks in an otherwise disappointing game for his team.

May excelled as the Tigers struggled to make the most of their strong start during the first 20 minutes against a weakened Broncos side.

Adam Doueihi added a conversion for Taylan May's early try in the ninth minute, followed by a penalty goal that initially put the Tigers in the lead.

However, Brisbane responded with a determined run from Xavier Willison, who, despite an effort from Api Koroisau to contain him, managed to assist Ezra Mam, who set up Josiah Karapani on the left wing for a try.
