Marshall Urges Media to Tone Down Praise

‘You can stop talking about us’: Benji bristles at Tigers’ hype after costly misses in brutal loss

Benji Marshall expressed his frustration with the media's excessive praise for his team following a narrow 21-20 defeat to the Broncos, a match the Tigers had the potential to win.

Despite sitting atop the table as they entered Round 7 and earning respect for their strong performances, the Tigers squandered a 12-4 lead against a depleted Broncos squad.

The turning point came when Adam Reynolds successfully kicked a crucial field goal, while the Tigers struggled with their execution, even after bringing Jock Madden onto the field in the final moments.

"We've practised scenarios and situations," Marshall stated.

"I think they kicked it first with nine minutes to go. I thought we had another chance to set it up. We went left and went over the sideline."

"I thought we could have probably had a chance to try and tie it up there, but that's a learning curve. I mean, we've been up for so long, now you guys can stop talking about us."

The Tigers have demonstrated resilience throughout the season, but this loss highlights the need for improvement in critical moments.
