Payne Haas has revealed that both personal and private issues significantly influenced his choice to part ways with the Brisbane Broncos and sign a lucrative three-year contract with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
In his first media appearance since causing a stir in the NRL, Haas dismissed speculation about conflicts with Brisbane coach Michael Maguire as "a bunch of BS."
He did acknowledge, however, that the opportunity to reunite with coach Wayne Bennett played a major role in his decision.
Haas shared that he experienced "sleepless nights" as he contemplated his next steps.
