The Dolphins have officially announced that Trai Fuller will be staying with the team, having re-signed until the conclusion of the 2027 season.
Fuller joined the NRL club in 2023, initially signing a train and trial deal, and since then, he has played in 19 NRL matches.
Before joining the Dolphins, he showcased his talent at the Queensland Cup level.
Now at 29 years old, the debutant from 2023 has faced some injury setbacks but has also been competing with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and a talented Dolphins backline.
This competition fueled speculation about his potential exit from the team.
Earlier this year, it was rumored that his contract contained a clause allowing him to leave for a specific contract amount, but he opted to stay after declining an offer from the St George Illawarra Dragons, who wouldn't guarantee a second year.
Interest from the Perth Bears and other teams in Australia and England was also reported.
However, this interest has diminished, with the Dolphins confirming that Fuller will continue at Redcliffe for another year, strengthening their fullback roster.
"There is no doubting that Trai is a real 'fan favourite' for the Dolphins," remarked the club's CEO, Terry Reader.
"To have a player of his skill to call on underlines the great depth we have at the club - his value to us this week against the Roosters is a perfect case in point."
