The St George Illawarra Dragons have announced that prop Blake Lawrie will depart the club after the current season concludes.
Rumors about Lawrie's exit surfaced late last month, with the 29-year-old being rumored for a transfer to the Super League.
His future club is still uncertain, as Lawrie prepares to leave the Dragons, where he has played his entire NRL career.
A product of the Dragons' academy, the 29-year-old began his junior football with the Dapto Canaries and debuted in the NRL in 2017.
Over ten seasons, he has accumulated 170 NRL games for the Red V, including ten matches this year.
During the 2023 season, Lawrie had a standout year, averaging a career-best 135 running metres per game and completing 680 tackles with 94 percent efficiency.
His performance earned him the Dragons Medal, as well as the Red V Members Player of the Year and the Community Involvement Award.
The Dragons officially confirmed his departure on Sunday evening.
"The St George Illawarra Dragons can confirm that Blake Lawrie will be departing the club come season's end," they stated in their announcement on Sunday.
