In a shocking turn of events, Damien Cook has found himself on the bench after a glaring mistake in Souths' recent loss to the Warriors.

The Rabbitohs hooker, known for his agility and speed, missed a crucial tackle that ultimately led to the team's defeat.

As a result, he has been dropped from the lineup for this weekend's showdown against the Sharks.

Coach Jason Demetriou, under increasing pressure due to the team's poor performance this season, made the tough decision to axe Cook along with Sean Keppie and Tallis Duncan.

Cook, a seasoned player with a strong track record, expressed his disappointment and frustration during an interview on the Big Sports Breakfast program on 2KY.

"I'm feeling a mix of emotions - anger, frustration, sadness.

I want nothing more than to be out there on the field with my teammates, giving it my all to turn the season around," Cook shared.

Despite the team's struggles and the recent setbacks, Cook remains determined to bounce back and help his team climb up from the bottom of the table.

He emphasized the importance of hard work and trust in their game plan to overcome this rough patch.

"I just want to be out there with the boys, fighting alongside them to push through this tough period.

We need to keep pushing ourselves and sticking together to fight the way out of this situation," Cook expressed.

With his sights set on redemption, Cook is eager to prove himself and earn his spot back in the starting lineup.

The hooker's resilience and determination will be key as the Rabbitohs look to turn their season around and make a strong comeback in the upcoming matches.
