Sophie Price hopes Gore's Sunday meeting proceeds, with Hello Hayley entered for the Advance Agriculture (1100m) and carrying only 50kg.
The track was rated Heavy10 on Friday, while heavy rain was forecast. An inspection on Saturday morning will determine whether racing continues.
Hello Hayley won the Listed Southland Guineas (1400m) and Listed Dunedin Guineas (1600m) last season.
Her campaign deteriorated after ninth in the rescheduled Listed Gore Guineas (1200m), followed by defeats in Riccarton's Listed NZB Insurance Stakes (1600m) and Listed Warstep Stakes (2000m).
"We didn't really want to drop back to 1200m (Gore Guineas), but when you had already won the other two it made sense," Price said.
Price said the daughter of Hello Youmzain had strengthened and matured during an indoor winter, but remained uncertain about the wet track.
"She should go a cheeky enough race with 50 kilos on her back, it is just whether she handles that track," Price said.
Apprentice Cooper Stumbles claims four kilograms. Hello Hayley's spring target is the Gr.3 Canterbury Breeders' Stakes (1400m) at Riccarton in November.
Price will also start Tick Tick Boom and Albazinga, who she said had both progressed well.
