Joseph Manu's French rugby commitments may end early enough for an NRL return during 2027, ahead of his planned move to the PNG Chiefs in 2028.
If he becomes available before the June 30 registration deadline, Manu could join an NRL club for the latter part of the season.
Such a signing would give a team an elite option but could unsettle established backline combinations. Even so, clubs have regularly pursued major reinforcements when injuries or other problems create urgent needs.
Manu's potential return is still developing, and no interested clubs have been identified. An injury-replacement deal appears the likeliest route, while five clubs could eventually consider making an approach.
