Former Brisbane Broncos icon Corey Parker has expressed his willingness to assist in revitalizing the club after a disappointing title defense in 2026.
The Broncos are now at risk of finishing at the bottom of the ladder, a stark contrast to their triumph less than a year ago, when they ended a 19-year premiership drought by claiming the trophy in early October.
This season has been particularly challenging, accentuated by a slew of injuries, leading to an underwhelming record of six wins against 15 losses to date.
With eight consecutive defeats to their name, coach Michael Maguire's frustration is palpable, especially when asked about the team's struggles.
"Not good enough, just plain and simple. We won't want to do that next weekend because we'll cop the same. It was really disappointing, that one. We're not playing the style that we know we've practised," Maguire remarked after a heavy 40-6 loss to the Warriors.
"The boys are playing for the Broncos jersey that they wear. That is not good enough. I normally keep calm at these things. We need to have a good hard look at ourselves," he added, highlighting the urgency for reflection.
Parker, a former premiership player, has made it clear he is keen on supporting the club's efforts to restore its former glory when questioned about a potential position with the Broncos.
"I've worked within the four walls at Brisbane, and I love the club," Parker shared on Channel Seven's Agenda Setters: Rugby League.
"It's a club that I know no different. I've been there my whole life. If there was an opportunity for me to be back into that club and the club thought that I was the right person for that role, not because I played there, but because I was the right person for that role, absolutely. Absolutely, I'd be putting my hand up to walk back into the Brisbane Broncos because of what it means to me, but it has to be for the right reasons."
