Broncos coach Michael Maguire expressed his bewilderment over a contentious no-call from the referees following a peculiar incident involving fullback Reece Walsh, who was sidelined for a HIA.
Walsh couldn't contain his anger as he was forced off late in the game against the Warriors.
His anger arose from the fact that he had to exit the field despite Mitch Barnett from the Warriors not being penalized for a high tackle.
In a play that nearly became a contender for try of the year, Walsh executed a beautiful cross-field kick, which was expertly gathered by winger Josiah Karapani, who managed to dance along the in-goal sideline before losing possession while attempting to score.
Immediately following the kick, Walsh was tackled by Barnett, who made high contact unintentionally. However, there was no subsequent penalty, and the Warriors were awarded a 20-metre restart due to the Broncos' knock-on during the in-goal play.
After the match, Maguire was questioned about the controversial incident.
