After 16 NRL seasons, Daly Cherry-Evans has signed a one-year deal with Hull Kingston Rovers.

His career included two premierships, 26 Queensland games, six State of Origin series victories, four as captain, and 21 Tests for Australia.

The 37-year-old plans to travel before Christmas for pre-season, after confirming dates with his coach.

With the Roosters preparing for life without Sam Walker, Cherry-Evans has nearly ruled out playing another season in 2027.

After his Super League stint, he is open to returning to the Roosters and has expressed interest in coaching there one day.

"But if the opportunity to come back here and help out was on the table, I'd certainly love to do that," the champion playmaker said.

He acknowledged that moving his wife Vessa and their three children from Sydney's northern beaches, and packing their home, had been a humbling challenge.
