The Roosters' halves remain uncertain after the club declined to re-sign Sam Walker following months of negotiations.
Reports suggested Walker could be shopped for 2027, a month after the Roosters won the premiership.
Captain James Tedesco is with the Australian Kangaroos and hopes to play against Samoa in Sunday's semi-final.
He earned the Clive Churchill Medal in the Roosters' 19-18 grand final win over Newcastle, running for 385 metres.
Asked about the club's free-agent situation, Tedesco chuckled: "Half the team is… I'm not as high on the list."
Some of his grand final comments prompted speculation that he was considering retirement.
It was his first premiership as captain, after he played in the club's 2018 and 2019 title-winning teams without the captaincy.
At the press conference, he described leading the Roosters to a title as a long-held ambition and said, "I felt like that was probably the last thing I wanted to do in my career."
Speaking to Danny Weidler on Monday, Tedesco said, "I've had good chats with Robbo, and I'd be keen for 2028," he revealed.
