Broncos Prepare for Roster Changes Ahead

The Brisbane Broncos are preparing for a potential roster overhaul at the end of the current season, yet they continue to focus on strengthening their squad.

According to CODE Sports, the club is in advanced discussions to secure utility back Hayze Perham on a one-year extension, potentially keeping him on board until the conclusion of the 2027 season.

This strategic move comes even with the anticipated exits of important players, including veteran halfback Adam Reynolds, who is set to retire, along with Payne Haas's expected transfer to the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Grant Anderson's switch to the New Zealand Warriors in a deal involving Mitch Barnett.

Since joining the team at the start of the 2025 season, Perham has established himself as the main backup for fullback Reece Walsh, although his journey with the Broncos has faced numerous challenges.

During his initial pre-season match against the Titans in Toowoomba, he suffered an ACL injury that sidelined him for his first year.

However, his comeback has been nothing short of remarkable.

The 26-year-old has made three appearances this season, a testament to his determination and resilience in overcoming adversity.

Currently, he is averaging 109 running metres per game, along with two tackle breaks and a try assist.

By opting to extend Perham's contract, the Broncos demonstrate their confidence that the best is yet to come from this versatile player.
