The NRL's Match Review Committee has taken action regarding two emerging stars from the matches held on Friday night.
Both players will not face suspension; instead, they have been issued fines for their respective incidents.
During the final moments of the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs versus North Queensland Cowboys game, Bulldogs winger Jonathan Sua made contact with Tom Chester's head, resulting in a grade-1 careless high tackle charge.
This will result in Sua facing a $1000 fine, which could increase to $1500 if he contests the charge but ultimately loses his appeal.
In the subsequent match, Dolphins rookie Kulikefu Finefeuiaki received a grade-1 careless high tackle charge for his involvement with Melbourne Storm debutant Hugo Peel in the 64th minute.
Like Sua, Finefeuiaki is looking at a $1000 fine for an early guilty plea; if he opts to contest the charge and does not prevail, the fine will escalate to $1500.
Thanks to their clean disciplinary records, both players qualified for reduced fine amounts, considering this was their first violation of its kind in 2026.
