York Valkyrie are hoping that their home advantage in the Women's Super League Grand Final against Leeds Rhinos at their LNER Stadium can help them clinch the title, according to their boss Lindsay Anfield.
The Valkyrie have been consistently strong, winning the League Leaders' Shield in the regular season for two consecutive years.
However, they have faced disappointment in recent years, losing in the Challenge Cup semi-finals in back-to-back seasons and falling short in last year's Grand Final.
Anfield emphasized the significance of playing at home, stating, "You can't understate how big it is." She highlighted the familiarity of the venue, including the changing rooms and the pitch, as well as the expected increase in fan support compared to if the match was held in Lancashire.
