Wigan Warriors ran riot against local rivals Leigh Leopards to secure their spot in the Super League Grand Final, where they will face off against Hull KR in a showdown at the iconic Old Trafford on Saturday October 12, airing live on Sky Sports.
The reigning champions were in fine form, with Liam Marshall and Sam Walters bagging doubles, along with a stunning Bevan French try, to give Wigan a commanding lead.
The Warriors were clinical in the first half, capitalizing on every Leigh mistake to take an 18-0 lead at halftime, leaving their opponents with a mountain to climb.
In the second half, Wigan continued to pile on the pressure, with Walters grabbing another try, Adam Keighran slotting in a penalty, and French and Jai Field showcasing some sensational individual efforts to seal the deal.
Leigh will no doubt be ruing their error-filled performance, unable to match Wigan's playoff pedigree on the big stage.
With a packed stadium creating a buzzing atmosphere, the Battle of the Borough got off to a fiery start, but it was the experienced hosts who ultimately came out on top.
