KL Iro is set to make his return during the Magic Round under a new name, as reported by sharks.com.au.

Fans of the Sharks may have noticed that the player formerly known as Kayal is now listed as KL Iro in the No.

4 jersey on today's team sheet.

At 24, Iro has opted to use his unofficial birth name, KL, which stands for his father's initials, Kevin Leslie Iro, a former Kiwis star.

Iro is returning from a hamstring injury and is expected to play against the Eels on Friday night.

He has contemplated this name change for several years and believes that the time has finally come to make the switch.

By adopting the name KL, Iro aims to eliminate confusion regarding the pronunciation of his first name.
