Tom Trbojevic, the Sea Eagles superstar, is uncertain if his recent switch to centre will be permanent.
He suggested that the decision to move Lehi Hopoate to fullback was made by the coaching staff rather than himself.
Hopoate is set to start at fullback in an upcoming match against the Wests Tigers, while Trbojevic will be playing just his second game at centre since 2017.
His recent performance has been solid in terms of yardage, but he has struggled to break tackles, registering only five in the past six games compared to 83 in 20 games last season.
This dip in form raises concerns about his acceleration, which has diminished since previous seasons.
Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold has opted to move Hopoate to the fullback position, where he has performed well in the past.
Trbojevic will transition to the right centre position, marking a significant tactical shift for the team.
The decision comes on the heels of Seibold's meetings with the players, during which he discussed potential changes to reinvigorate the team's performance.
"I had a lot of input from the coaches, but we've got someone like Lehi there who's very good at fullback," Trbojevic stated during a recent announcement regarding a new commercial partnership with Manly Fast Ferries.
The Sea Eagles aim to turn their season around and hope that these strategic adjustments will provide the necessary spark.
