Titans Struggle to Secure Fotuaika's Future

The Gold Coast Titans are currently experiencing significant challenges in their efforts to keep forward Moeaki Fotuaika through 2027 and beyond.

Since making his debut in 2018, Fotuaika has established himself as a crucial player, holding the club's game record with 174 appearances and showcasing his talent as an Origin-level prop.

This season, under new coach Josh Hannay, his performance has dipped, averaging below 100 metres per game - a first since his rookie year.

Nonetheless, the Titans still see him as an essential part of their future and hope to keep him as a one-club player.

According to News Corp, the club has either begun or is preparing to engage in discussions concerning his future, although Fotuaika has recently switched management, which could indicate a possible desire for a change due to his current form and reduced playing time.

At just 26, he still has the potential for another six to seven strong years, and the Titans recognize his value, especially alongside Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, who is also committed to the club long-term.

Fotuaika expressed that he isn't focused too far ahead and acknowledged that the team's success could influence his decision regarding a new contract.

"I'm just taking each year as it comes," the prop stated.

"I want to get this club in a position where the fans are proud of us and want to come and watch this great club perform at home every weekend or watch us on TV wherever we are."
