Benji Marshall candidly expressed the current struggles of the Tigers, acknowledging that they are "in a bit of a hole at the moment" after suffering their third consecutive defeat on Saturday.
Initially, the Tigers surprised many this season, achieving success thanks to a solid defensive strategy under Marshall's guidance.
However, a series of injuries have recently put a strain on the young team, with their 46-18 defeat against the Sea Eagles marking yet another heavy loss in the past month.
In total, the Tigers have allowed 142 points in their last three matches, and while the increasing number of injuries could serve as a convenient excuse, Marshall emphasized that Saturday's performance was "not good enough."
"We're in a bit of a hole at the moment. Down on troops and not playing the footy we want to play, lacking a bit of confidence and resilience and again, we weren't good enough today," he stated.
He also acknowledged the performance of Manly, saying, "It's a credit to Foz and what he's doing at Manly. They're a really good side. I think what he's been able to achieve in his short time with them has been awesome... but a lot to look at (to) find how we get out of the hole at the moment."
