The Wests Tigers have officially announced their long-term stadium strategy following a period of speculation. The club will continue to hold games at both Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown Sports Stadium for the next 15 years, solidifying their presence in these venues.
Despite previous considerations to move games to larger stadiums in Parramatta or Homebush, the Tigers have committed to their "spiritual homes" for the foreseeable future. The finalization of this strategy will depend on the completion of detailed commercial terms.
A significant funding package, exceeding $100 million, has been identified through collaborations among local, state, and federal governments to support this strategy. Of this, $50 million is earmarked for the redevelopment of Leichhardt Oval, with plans established across all levels of government.
Construction at Leichhardt Oval is set to begin by late 2026, although the duration of the project remains uncertain. Similarly, funds have also been allocated for Campbelltown Sports Stadium, but the timeline for the start of that construction is yet to be determined.
