Sydney Roosters' Tupou retires after triumph

BREAKING: Four-time premiership-winner, Roosters great makes bombshell career call

Daniel Tupou finished his Roosters career with 198 tries, the most scored by any player for the club.

He retired after the Roosters defeated Newcastle in the grand final, playing his 307th and final match in the decider.

The win gave the one-club veteran a fourth premiership and capped a career spanning 15 seasons.

Tupou made his NRL debut against Canberra in round 24 in 2024 and remained a regular presence for the Roosters.

In 2023, he moved past club great Anthony Minichiello to claim the Roosters' try-scoring record.

The following season, Tupou became the first player to score 150 tries for the club.

He said he felt blessed to have spent his entire NRL career with the Roosters.
