Jaydn Su'A, the second-rower for St George Illawarra Dragons, is likely done playing for the team after suffering a suspected torn pectoral muscle during Sunday's match.

Recently, Su'A has faced a series of unfortunate events, including a suspension following the Round 7 clash with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Just days before his anticipated return, he sustained another injury while being named to play at centre.

He was finally able to participate in the game against the Cronulla Sharks, entering after halftime. Unfortunately, after only 20 minutes on the field, he sustained the new injury.

After the match, interim coach Dean Young addressed the media and indicated that the outlook was grim for the skilled player, who has plans to join the Parramatta Eels in 2027 after declining a new contract with the Dragons.

"I don't think it's good. I just spoke to him then, and he thinks he might've torn it, so it's not ideal," Young stated to reporters.

"We'll get scans in the next couple of days and get more info about it."

If confirmed, a torn pectoral muscle could keep Su'A out of action for approximately 12 weeks. Given that the season is already in Round 14 and the Dragons are not in the running for finals, he may only be back for a week or two.

With a focus on nurturing a younger forward pack, including players like Dylan Egan and Hamish Stewart, it seems unlikely that Su'A would return.

If this indeed marks the end of his time with the Dragons, he will depart having played 79 matches since joining the club in 2022.
