Melbourne Storm players Stefano Utoikamanu and Trent Loiero have avoided punishment from the Match Review Committee (MRC) despite concerns they might be charged following their match against the Canberra Raiders.
Initially penalized during the game, Utoikamanu received a sin-bin sanction, while Loiero was cited for a high tackle and foul play.
Reports from zerotackle.com indicate that both players are now cleared to play in the upcoming match against the Wests Tigers.
Following the game, Storm head coach Craig Bellamy commented on Utoikamanu's performance, saying, "If he was in the wrong, he needs to pick his discipline up.
It's unlike anyone, it is.
You show me a bloke that gives away two penalties when he's got the ball in the game, I'm thinking you're not looking at too many people." The ruling allows the duo to contribute to the team without the looming uncertainty of match suspensions.
