St Helens continued their winning streak in the Super League with a victory over Wakefield, intensifying the battle for the top spot in the table.

Despite being the favorites for relegation, Wakefield put up a strong fight against the reigning champions.

St Helens, Wigan Warriors, and Catalans Dragons are now level on points at the top of the table with three rounds remaining.

Wakefield, on the other hand, remain two points behind Castleford.

Two tries from St Helens just before half-time gave them a 14-point lead at the break.

Wakefield improved in the second half but St Helens maintained their dominance.

St Helens' coach expressed mixed emotions but acknowledged the difficulty of playing at Wakefield.

Early tries from Jonny Lomax and Tommy Makinson put St Helens ahead, with Matty Ashurst responding for Wakefield.

Despite Wakefield's pressure, St Helens struck twice before half-time, securing their control over the match.
