St Helens head coach Paul Wellens acknowledged the need for introspection after a disappointing 32-18 loss to Warrington Wolves in Super League.
Despite a strong rally in the first half to narrow the gap to just two points, St Helens faltered in the second half, allowing Warrington to secure a comfortable victory.
Wellens expressed concern over the team's defensive lapses, which have contributed to a string of losses against top Super League teams.
Reflecting on the performance, he emphasized the importance of reassessing the team's mindset and commitment to their defensive strategies.
Wellens admitted that the defeat has prompted serious contemplation, stating, "I think I will be (deep in thought) for some time to be honest."
