The Cronulla Sharks secured a 27-10 victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs in a game filled with exhilarating attacking plays in the first half.

The Sharks scored four tries, including a spectacular length-of-the-field effort, and had several close opportunities in the opening 40 minutes.

Unfortunately, the match was marred by injuries to Braden Hamlin-Uele and Siosifa Talakai, who had to leave the field due to injuries.

Despite hooker Blayke Brailey sustaining a corked leg, he is expected to recover in time for the next game against Canterbury.

The Sharks started the game strong, with Connor Tracey scoring his first try of the season just four minutes into the match with a show-and-go move on the right edge.

Fullback Will Kennedy then set up Briton Nikora for another try after delivering a perfect flat pass.

The successful conversion gave the Sharks a commanding 10-0 lead within the first nine minutes of play.

The Rabbitohs almost responded with a try from Mikaele Ravalawa, making his debut for the club, but a crucial defensive play from Ronaldo Mulitalo prevented a potential score by forcing Ravalawa out of bounds before he could touch the ball down.

The Sharks' dominance in the first half laid the foundation for their eventual victory over the Rabbitohs, showcasing their impressive attacking prowess and defensive capabilities.

Despite the setbacks of injuries to key players, the team displayed resilience and determination to secure a comfortable win in front of a sold-out crowd at Sharks Stadium.

With Brailey expected to recover for the upcoming game, the Sharks are looking to build on this strong performance and continue their winning streak in the competition.
