Annetta Nu'uausala has played in two Women's Rugby League World Cups for the Kiwi Ferns and is now representing Samoa at her third.
The Warriors prop says choosing Samoa was easy, and she hopes to finish her career "with these colours."
On Friday night in Wollongong, Samoa face England in a winner-takes-all group match that will decide who reaches the knockout stage.
Samoa have not appeared at the tournament for 18 years, and a victory would secure a historic semi-final place.
England and Samoa have both lost heavily to Australia and beaten Wales. This is the first match between the nations' women's teams.
Nu'uausala and coach Frank Pritchard say beating England would be the team's greatest victory and could help grow the game across the Pacific.
Nu'uausala, Samoa's most-capped women's representative, said, "Getting results on the big stage for the national teams goes a long way to growing the game."
She added, "It would be good to have people from the NRL or whoever runs these programs to head over to Samoa, there's so much interest there.''
Pritchard said the women's game needs full-time opportunities and more international matches. "We need more Test matches ... we can't wait to the end of the year to play these sort of games."
Samoa will also draw encouragement from the men's team, who upset hosts England in a semi-final at the previous World Cup.
