Gold Coast's bid to keep Harrison

Zane Harrison.

Gold Coast have secured long-term stability in three key positions, with Keano Kini contracted through 2030 and Jayden Campbell through 2031.

They have now extended 20-year-old half Zane Harrison's deal by two years, keeping him at the club until the end of 2029.

Harrison was contracted through 2027 but could have negotiated with other clubs from November 1. The PNG Chiefs were interested in signing him.

He played 11 NRL matches this year after progressing through the Future Titans program and attending Palm Beach Currumbin State High School.

Coach Josh Hannay said on Thursday that Harrison's commitment was a significant result for the club.

"Since I joined the club, Zane has consistently spoken about three things ... his teammates, his love of the Titans and his desire to bring success to his home town," Hannay said.

"He's one of the most impressive young men I've worked with and demonstrates day-in, day-out the qualities we want as a Gold Coast Titan.

"He's tough to go with his talent and his temperament is what sets him apart as a young playmaker."

Hannay acknowledged "plenty of speculation about Zane's contract situation over the past month", but said negotiations convinced him Harrison wanted to help revive the club.

Harrison, who grew up in Tweed Heads supporting the Titans, said: "I'm really excited about what Josh is building and the direction this team is heading. I want to be part of that,"

Gold Coast, which finished 16th in 2026 for a second straight season, has also pursued Melbourne hooker Harry Grant and is preparing a lucrative offer for him when he becomes a free agent on November 1.

The Titans have allowed 19-year-old forward Cooper Bai to negotiate with the Chiefs after he indicated he would not re-sign.
