Warrington Wolves are crossing their fingers and toes that head coach Sam Burgess can hurdle over some visa issues in time to jet off to the United States for their monumental Super League match in Las Vegas.
Unfortunately, Burgess missed out on joining the squad for their epic clash with Wigan Warriors at the Allegiant Stadium this past Sunday, a highlight of the live matches set to dazzle in Sin City.
The ex-England star shared last week that his visa application was stuck in limbo, leaving him stranded in the UK as of Wednesday morning.
Scheduled for a presser in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon UK time, Burgess had to pass the mic to first-team coach Martin Gleeson.
Nonetheless, Warrington big boss Karl Fitzpatrick remains optimistic that Burgess will sprint over any remaining hurdles and touchdown in the US.
"Look, we're hopeful," Fitzpatrick chirped to Sky Sports.
"The application is still in play, and the embassy has been a champion in trying to fast-track it.
We just need to conquer a few more hurdles, but right now, we're backing Sam to make it Stateside by Saturday."
