The Sydney Roosters are reportedly set to part ways with prop Spencer Leniu, who will not be receiving a new contract when his current deal concludes.
Leniu, a State of Origin player last year, has struggled to find his place within the Roosters lineup.
His contract runs until the end of 2027, and he is eligible to negotiate with other clubs starting November 1. However, he may be allowed to discuss his future sooner if the Roosters choose to facilitate that process.
"There has been a little chatter around it," Issa said on the show.
"From the sounds of it, he is on the outer at the Roosters at the moment. This makes complete sense."
A potential move to the Chiefs could bolster the roster for what will become the NRL's 19th club when they enter the league in 2028.
The Chiefs have already secured the signing of Jarome Luai, a close friend of Leniu, along with Alex Johnston, who is expected to join soon, although his signing isn't officially confirmed yet.
Luai was able to negotiate prior to November 1 due to his status as a free agent in 2027, while Johnston received permission from the South Sydney Rabbitohs to start discussions.
