Despite facing numerous career setbacks, including major injuries and becoming a father, Keary has remained unwavering in his pursuit of knowledge.
He has completed a Certificate IV in Fitness and Small Business, as well as a Bachelor of Business at ACU.
Currently, he is enrolled in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the University of New South Wales.
Keary's commitment to his studies has not only served as a positive distraction or escape during challenging times, but it has also allowed him to effectively manage his personal and professional responsibilities.
Nat Butcher, on the other hand, has been recognized for his efforts in encouraging younger players to pursue education outside of football.
The Club's Education and Wellbeing staff have repeatedly called upon Butcher to inspire and motivate his teammates to prioritize their studies alongside their sporting commitments.
The Academic Team of the Year, which includes players from both the men's and women's competitions, aims to empower rugby league players to excel academically.
